Ingredients
FOR KOFTAS
- Potatoes: 3
- Corn flour : 2 Tbsp
- Salt : as per taste
- Raisins: 8-9
- Oil : to Deep fry.
FOR GRAVY
- Onions : 2 Medium
- Oil : 2 Tbsp
- Ginger/garlic paste : 1 Tbsp
- Green Chilles : 1
- Coriander Powder/Dhaniya powder : 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric Powder : 1/2 tsp
- Salt : as per taste
- Tomato Puree : of 1 Large tomato
- Red chilli Powder : 1/2 tsp peferably Degi mirch.
- Mawa(khoya) : 1/4 cup
- Fresh Cream : 1/4 Cup
- Garam Masala Powder : 1/2 tsp
- Paneer : 50 Gms
Method
- Boil the potatoes, cool, peel and mash them.
- Mix Mashed potatoes with grated paneer, green chilli
one if desired, cornflour and salt. Add less salt as the gravy would also
have some salt. Mix well.
- Divide into 8 equal balls. Stuff raisins/kismis into
them.
- Deep fry in hot oil until slightly coloured. Drain and
keep aside.
- Peel onions and slice them. In 1 tsp spoon, fry the
onions till they get brown and grind them into smooth paste.
- In a khadai/pan, add onion paste and cook for 2 mins.
- Add ginger-garlic paste, green chillies, coriander
powder, turmeric powder and salt. Cook for a minute. Add tomato puree and
red chilli powder and cook on medium flame for 5-7mins or till the oil
seprates from the masala.
- Mix mawa in 1 cup of water. Make sure no lumps are left
and add to the gravy. Bring it to boil and simmer for 5-8mins on slow flame.
Stir in fresh cream and garam masala powder.
- Place warm koftas in a serving dish and pour the hot gravy over it and serve.
