Poori Masala

Ingredients
  • Potato - 2 large
  • Onion - 1/2
  • Bengal gram dhal - 1 tsp
  • Mustard Seed - 1/2 tsp
  • Urad dhal - 1/2 tsp
  • Curry Leaves - few
  • Capsicum - optional
  • Green Chili - 2 -3 nos
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Oil - 3 tsp
  • coriander leaves - For garnishing
  • Wheat flour - 2 cups
Method

For poori
  • Mix wheat flour, salt and knead the dough to hard consistency,don’t add too much water.
  • Take a lemon size portion of the dough and roll it into small chapatti.
  • Heat oil for deep frying, once the oil is heated deep fry the pooris both side till appears light brown.
For Masala
  • Pressure cook the potatoes and mash them in to bite size pieces.
  • Heat oil in a pan,add mustard seeds,urad dhal,bengal gram dhal fry till it turns golden brown.
  • Add the chopped onion,slit green chilies,curry leaves and turmeric powder mix all this.
  • Add the mashed potatoes & add little water, cook it for 5 minutes.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve for poori.
  • A perfect food for kids because of high calorie content.
Note:For masala if you need little thin consistency add more water & 2 tsp of besan powder diluted in water.
For poori if you wish you can add little suji to get more crispness.
